That was a really great experience for me, and it really helped me get a greater appreciation for all involved in the whole process.”
Smart, who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted as a teenager, became an advocate for the missing and victims of abuse.
Smart told Variety that she expected some viewers to be surprised by her participation in the show. “I don’t think most people, even those, know me well. I’d guess I would do something like this,” she said. “Life should also be happy, not serious all the time. I want to have a happy life too, just as much as I want to have a meaningful life linked to positive change, education and prevention.
